Division of Infectious Diseases

??The Division of Infectious Diseases at Tygerberg Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票 is engaged in comprehensive education, research, and clinical services related to the diagnosis, management and prevention of infections in the community and the hospital environment and the promotion of rational antimicrobial use across all levels of care. 
Key clinical focus areas include people with HIV, including severe opportunistic infections and co-infections like hepatitis B and tuberculosis, antimicrobial resistant hospital acquired infections and outbreaks of highly communicable infections like viral haemorrhagic fever, typhoid and diphtheria. 

The Division works closely with the Divisions of Medical Microbiology, Medical Virology and Clinical Pharmacology as well as the Unit for Infection Prevention and Control.
